So I was thinking about Jim Parsons and how over the course of the last month or so, the reaction to him has turned toward drooling, flailing, capslock-squeeing over his hotness, etc. Even the media has jumped in a bit, with one reporter calling him sexy, and TV Guide issue that interviewed him had this on their cover:

So, anyhoo, it got me to thinking about my recent fandoms and how all of the guys in them (that I find attractive) are not the stereotypical, conventional "hunks" that one usually hears drooled about in the media. The two things they have in common are: amazing talent and jaw-dropping charisma. Apparently for me, and those with who I share the fandom, that's enough to make one drool ... even if the guys aren't the cliched H'wood beauty. (Although, admittedly, some come closer than others).

As I've stated elsewhere, once I finished season two of New Who, I was going to rewatch and review what I call my "Her Name was Rose" collection (click here for the full list of episodes). I know it's been over two months since I did the rewatch-review for Bad Wolf, but with real life happenings and, more especially, the knowledge that after this there was no more Nine, no more Christopher Eccleston, I've been delaying doing this one.

Oh heck, it has nothing to do with real life, I just didn't want to say goodbye to Nine yet. *Sigh* I do adore the Ninth Doctor so. I've been a fan of Eccleston for years, but this show, his performance as the Doctor made me absolutely love him. *Double sigh* But here we are, at last ... 'The Parting of the Ways' ... Specific spoilers for series one, as well as 'Doomsday' and 'Journey's End.' )

Oh, the joy of the internet, LOL! So I was tagged by [livejournal.com profile] lovepollution for this meme ...

1 List 10 celebrities you would have sex with without even asking questions.
2 Put them IN ORDER of your lust for them (10 to 1; 1 is the hottest).
3 Supply photos for said people.
4 Say which movie/show/thing it was that hooked you.

Got around to watching an Eccleston movie I hadn't seen before. Honestly I wasn't looking forward to it because it co-starred Cameron Diaz -- someone I am NOT a fan of -- but I wanted to watch 'em all, so I did. Surprisingly, I thought it was decent and really, really, REALLY liked one aspect of it.

That aspect and obviously spoilers behind the cut. If you want to see Chris Eccleston naked in some hot scenes you might want to click also. )
arabian: (Dr Who (9))
[livejournal.com profile] rynne put up a whole bunch of D/R quotes -- go there now! -- but, oh Julie Gardner, I love you so! This part of these were my two favorites simply because the first highlighted (a) my long-held belief that yes, damnit! Rose LOVED Nine and (b) it's got a little Eccleston plug, and the second one because ... yes, LOOK AT THAT SMILE!!

JG, on Rose in "The Christmas Invasion"
Rose, of course, was suspicious, because she absolutely adored, loved Christopher Eccleston's Doctor. [cut to scene of Rose crying in Jackie's arms in TCI.] So, she had to fall in love with him again ...
JG, re: "The Stolen Earth":
But Russell T Davies is just a bad man. We've waited for so many seasons for Rose to finally find the Doctor--it's that amazing smile, I think, that Billie has, a big close up when she first sees him that kind of says everything.

Hmmm...

I wonder why no one has written this fic yet. The idea just popped into my head; I've read a story here or there that has the hand regenerating into Nine (which I told myself made sense feasibly because even though the regeneration is supposed to rewrite every line of DNA, heh, it can miss a few. Anyhoo, in my idea, the DNA strand that connects with Donna is Nine's, and so he looks like Nine but with Ten-ish hair.

What? Eccleston's had Ten-nish hair before. See? Well, sorta. But anyway, instead of, erm, NineII been sent off with Rose to the alternate universe, Ten, Rose and NineII "enjoy" each other's company aboard the TARDIS. Or, he can still have the close-cropped hair. That works too.

Yeah, just surprised this hasn't popped up anywhere since the hand regenerating into Nine is already out there.

Still going through the Eccleston, Piper, Tennant and Tate filmography (as listed in this this post) and I got Perfect Parents with Christopher Eccleston from Netflix this weekend. I really had no interest in this beyond Eccleston's appearance, and was honestly expecting it to be kinda lame. I dunno why, I just did. I was wrong. )

As I've stated elsewhere, once I finished season two of New Who, I was going to rewatch and review what I call my "Her Name was Rose" collection (click here for the full list of episodes).

On with 'Bad Wolf' now ... Random spoilers throughout the four series. )

I *was* going to do the rewatch-review of "Bad Wolf" today, but blame David Tennant for the lack as I simply had to watch Einstein and Eddington. I figured I'd share my thoughts on it, as well as some Eccleston and Tate stuff I've watched as I go through my list of Eccleston, Piper, Tennant and Tate filmographies.

Einstein and Eddington )

The Catherine Tate Show (series 1) )

Starter for Ten )

Lewis & Clark and Other Great Adventures )

A Price Above Rubies )

arabian: (Dr Who (9) - BT)
As I've stated elsewhere, once I finished season two of New Who, I was going to rewatch and review what I call my "Her Name was Rose" collection (click here for the full list of episodes). Nearing the home stretch of series one, here we go with number eleven, "Boom Town."

I've found one aspect in which I prefer Moffat's episodes to Rusty's. The former's take me an hour, two tops to write. It took me six for this one. Man! (Spoilers for the upcoming two-parters as well as 'Journey's End.') )

For quick reference: Handporn! Time!! )

As I've stated elsewhere, once I finished season two of New Who, I was going to rewatch and review what I call my "Her Name was Rose" collection (click here for the full list of episodes). I've done the first nine episodes of series one; here comes number ten, the second of a two-parter.

The Last of Moffat for me ... ever! )

I'm watching Shallow Grave -- second time, but it's been years -- on my way to going through all of Christopher Eccleston, Billie Piper, David Tennant and Catherine Tate's filmogrophies. I'm about ten seconds in and the film begins with Eccleston's character narrating ... and he's using a Scottish accent!!.

Please tell me I'm not the only Doctor-fan squeeing over this just because of the Tennant-Scottish connection? Please tell me I'm not alone here.
arabian: (Christopher Eccleston_01)
Yes, I've actually moved on from Billie Piper for a bit. Shocking, I know! Anyhoo, so I watched The Second Coming starring Christopher Eccleston and Lesley Sharp (Sky from "Midnight") and written by good ole Rusty.

Before anyone enters into the cut, know that this is a movie with religious themes and that I discuss those themes, my thoughts and that I am a Roman Catholic.

arabian: (Dr Who (9) - WTF)
As I've stated elsewhere, once I finished season two of New Who, I was going to rewatch and review what I call my "Her Name was Rose" collection (click here for the full list of episodes). I've done the first eight episodes of series one; here comes number nine (as with all two/three-parters, I'm still only doing these one episode at a time).

Oy, it's Moffat ... so, yeah, you know, some ranting. Also, there are references to the conclusion of plot and character reveals from the second-part. (Also, really slight 'Fear Her' spoiler.) )

As I've stated elsewhere, once I finished season two of New Who, I was going to rewatch and review what I call my "Her Name was Rose" collection (click here for the full list of episodes).

Note: If you missed the last rewatch-review (of "Dalek"), you might want to check it out as Rob Shearman, the writer of that particular episode, popped in and added some wonderful insight to the whole process.

Moving along ... 'The Long Game' with spoilers for 'Doomsday' and 'The Runaway Bride.' )

For the most part. Just reading comments here and there over the last couple of months and finding myself thinking but I DO like that or I DON'T like that, and after writing up this quite, quite unpopular opinion re: Donna post, I was inspired to compile a list and am just now putting it up. Now, I know one is extremely unpopular, and one I found out after I wrote the list, edges more towards popular and my goodness, can I ramble? Anyhoo, the list in no particular order ...behind the cut )

So share your thoughts, your own opinions that might be a tad outside the norm. Will be fun to read. :D (I know some of my other Who icons are much more appropriate, but new Billie icon! Squee!! I had to use it.)
