As I've stated elsewhere, once I finished season two of New Who, I was going to rewatch and review what I call my "Her Name was Rose" collection (click here for the full list of episodes). I know it's been over two months since I did the rewatch-review for Bad Wolf, but with real life happenings and, more especially, the knowledge that after this there was no more Nine, no more Christopher Eccleston, I've been delaying doing this one.

Oh heck, it has nothing to do with real life, I just didn't want to say goodbye to Nine yet. *Sigh* I do adore the Ninth Doctor so. I've been a fan of Eccleston for years, but this show, his performance as the Doctor made me absolutely love him. *Double sigh* But here we are, at last ... 'The Parting of the Ways' ... Specific spoilers for series one, as well as 'Doomsday' and 'Journey's End.' )

On with 'Bad Wolf' now ... Random spoilers throughout the four series. )

As I've stated elsewhere, once I finished season two of New Who, I was going to rewatch and review what I call my "Her Name was Rose" collection (click here for the full list of episodes). Nearing the home stretch of series one, here we go with number eleven, "Boom Town."

I've found one aspect in which I prefer Moffat's episodes to Rusty's. The former's take me an hour, two tops to write. It took me six for this one. Man! (Spoilers for the upcoming two-parters as well as 'Journey's End.') )

As I've stated elsewhere, once I finished season two of New Who, I was going to rewatch and review what I call my "Her Name was Rose" collection (click here for the full list of episodes). I've done the first nine episodes of series one; here comes number ten, the second of a two-parter.

The Last of Moffat for me ... ever! )

As I've stated elsewhere, once I finished season two of New Who, I was going to rewatch and review what I call my "Her Name was Rose" collection (click here for the full list of episodes). I've done the first eight episodes of series one; here comes number nine (as with all two/three-parters, I'm still only doing these one episode at a time).

Oy, it's Moffat ... so, yeah, you know, some ranting. Also, there are references to the conclusion of plot and character reveals from the second-part. (Also, really slight 'Fear Her' spoiler.) )

Note: If you missed the last rewatch-review (of "Dalek"), you might want to check it out as Rob Shearman, the writer of that particular episode, popped in and added some wonderful insight to the whole process.

Moving along ... 'The Long Game' with spoilers for 'Doomsday' and 'The Runaway Bride.' )

On with 'Dalek' now ... Spoilers for 'The Long Game' and vague references here and there to Daleks. That's about it this time around. )

As I've stated elsewhere, once I finished season two of New Who, I was going to rewatch and review what I call my "Her Name was Rose" collection (click here for the full list of episodes). Okay, here goes another one, episode four, "Aliens of London." I think I've mentioned this in a few comments, but let me put this out here now, even though this is the first of a two-parter, I'm still only doing one episode at a time, and that will be the case for all of the two-parters.

I want to preface this one by saying that I do just so love this show. I was just grinning and giddy as I lay down to watch it and was actually pulled out of actually watching it a few times in the first couple of minutes out of sheer giddiness that I was watching my Who. Then I sent a fervent prayer up to the Who gods: Moffat, please don't destroy my show. Then I rewound to watch what I had missed. Ahem, moving on ... "Aliens of London." (Oh, and just a forewarning, no caps or clips in this one.)

Read on for what I really, really don't think we'll be a ridiculously long post. Really. Spoilers for 'Boomtown,' and casting for a few future episodes (not named). Oh, and a brief mention of the semi-villains in 'Partners in Crime.' Also, 'Torchwood' casting. )

A few weeks ago I finished up the second episode, and am now finally doing the third. I know I promised that they would come more swiftly once series four was over, but I started reading a series of books (Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel's Legacy Series) and have found myself consumed with reading those. I'm not done, but I swore I would get "The Unquiet Dead" done last week, and seeing as how this is Sunday, I already didn't follow-through, so dangit, I'm doing it now. I have three and half more books to go in the Kushiel Series, so I can't promise it won't be another few weeks before I do an episode four write-up, but once I'm done with the books, I expect these to come faster. I swear. Anyhoo, on with the write-up ...

Behind the cut with spoilers for 'New Earth,' 'Tooth & Claw' 'Doomsday' and a specific-actor-related spoiler for 'Journey's End.' (Doesn't spoil the plot at all of that episode.) )

As I've stated elsewhere, once I finished series two of New Who, I was going to rewatch and review what I call my "Her Name was Rose" collection (click here for the full list of episodes). Right then, so I finished "Doomsday" last night, and rewatched "Rose" tonight ... so here are my thoughts on it. I may do this for all of the episodes, or just specific ones. It depends on my mood.

Anyhoo, read on, behind the cut (includes discussion of the why of S3/4 traveling companions). )

Below is a list of my rewatch-reviews of specific Doctor Who episodes that are separated into two collections: 'Her Name was Rose' and 'Best of the Rest." My rewatch-reviews offer a bit more than a reaction post to a first-time watched episode. After my rewatch, I write up full-length reviews that include analysis of the characters, plot, writing, direction, acting and the overall feel. In the case of the 'Her Name was Rose' collection, I also offer up an indepth examination of the Doctor/Rose relationship. In addition, screencaps and video clips are often included within the text ... which, by the way, tends to be very lengthy.

Here is the full list of each collection that I'll be rewatching and reviewing, as well as an explanation for missing episodes and why the inclusion of others. As I write them, I'll link to each episode.

'HER NAME WAS ROSE' COLLECTION )

Why is 'The Girl in the Fireplace' not on the list? )

Hey! Rose isn't even in 'The Shakespeare Code!' or 'Utopia!' or 'Midnight!' )

'BEST OF THE REST' COLLECTION )
