Yes, i think we will. We obviously have very different views on the subject, which isn't a bad thing, of course, but we don't want this to get beyond friendly debate.
I'm not sure if I properly explained myself, but since you've now read my post over at my journal, I think I've made myself pretty clear. I don't mean to say that the Doctor was thinking specifically of sex in giving Rose that 'one adventure he could never have.' In fact, it seems silly that that would have been what he was thinking of, because that's not in character at all.
What I mean is that the Doctor was very emotionally inhibited... and I think he felt unable to open himself up fully to Rose (saying 'I love you', etc.) This may have been because they were so very different, and he was aware of that. I see having a physical relationship as opening yourself up fully to another person, and I think something was always holding the Doctor back. I don't think the physical part would have been 'easy' for him, as you say. I think, in giving Rose a human version of himself, he was giving her a man who was free to love her in a very human way. By that I don't mean just sex, I mean total devotion. a man who could share himself with her, life, body and soul.
We aren't going to agree, but I respect your opinion, and have enjoyed debating this.
