I'm watching Shallow Grave -- second time, but it's been years -- on my way to going through all of Christopher Eccleston, Billie Piper, David Tennant and Catherine Tate's filmogrophies. I'm about ten seconds in and the film begins with Eccleston's character narrating ... and he's using a Scottish accent!!.

Please tell me I'm not the only Doctor-fan squeeing over this just because of the Tennant-Scottish connection? Please tell me I'm not alone here.

Yeah, really. But the glasses? Oy, they so have to go.

I've never seen it, but I'll have to. I love CE's accent, but I also love Scottish accents, so I'm sure I'd enjoy it very much.

Just be wary, it's not for the faint of heart. It's creepy, squicky and icky. But two bonuses:

1. Christopher Eccleston using a Scottish Accent.
2. One bum-shot of Christopher Eccleston whilst showering!

I can handle most kinds of creepy, squicky and icky. But I'll be warned.

Those are two very good reasons for me to watch it ASAP.

I haven't seen Shallow Grave yet, though it is on my list. In an amusing moment of synchronicity, I too decided to work on my CE filmography tonight, and got Jude from the library. I think I have to brace myself for it, though, as I've heard it's really sad.

Oy, you have not seen Jude? Oh boy. Prepare to have your chest opened, your heart ripped out, and then stomped upon the floor into a million pieces by sharp, stiletto heels.

Yes, it's THAT sad.

I can't find it anywhere near me. I am bummed, if I get this new job, I may break down and just buy it because I remember loving it, I love Kate Winslet and Christopher Eccleston and hey, who doesn't love a movie to watch every now and then that just rips them completely to shreds emotionally?

Yeah. I've heard it is completely heartbreaking, not to mention I hate Thomas Hardy, so I'd been holding out on this one. But really, Chris and Kate in the same movie... I can't help myself.

I figure I can do one of two things:

a) save it for a rainy, horrible day when I'm feeling depressed, and cry a lot

b) get really wasted on Irish Coffee while watching it.

We'll see which I choose.

Kate Winslet and CE really are spectacular in it. Which ever route you choose, I know you'll walk away with a renewed belief in the awesome power of his acting because he's just so, so good in this. I know he's good in everything, but this? Just gut-wrenching.

Watch it, but as I told someone above, it's creepy, icky and squicky and not for the faint of heart.

I have not seen that yet, but man, Eccleston with a Scottish accent? Must do that SOON.

Have you made your way to 28 Days Later yet?

It's not one to watch for the faint of heart, but it's worth it just to hear him with a Scottish accent.

I didn't get 28 Days Later yet from Netflix. I have seen it already though -- I LOVE Cillian Murphy too -- so I know what I'll be getting, but I wasn't watching it with Eccleston in mind, so it will be fun to rewatch from that angle, and knowing that it was his idea to add the homoerotic undertones.

I rented that movie just to see him - this was right after I'd discovered Doctor Who and was so in love with Nine. He did a great job with that accent - he could read a cookbook and I'd sit happily and listen.

Yeah, he has a GREAT voice. He and Tennant both. Man, now I really want to rewatch Jude, knowing that he and Tennant shared a dinky scene at one point, hah!
