arabian | Good TV last night, yay!!

I liked Ugly Betty last year, and I liked the season premiere, but not in an 'OHMYGOD! I love this show!!!' way as I did season one. Last night's episode felt closer to season one than the show has in a while. I liked Betty; I liked her resourcefullness; I liked most of what we got with the other characters and I LOVED that we got some Daniel/Betty stuff. That was missed a lot last season and it sucked!!! I'm totally fine with no Daniel/Betty now, but I'd like for them to be endgame and when we don't get those moments with them that show that, it's really frustrating. However, we got a plethora of them in this episode, so yay!

Not so yay? I'm finally going to bite the bullet and admit it: I don't like Hilda or the actress who plays her. She just annoys me. And in a storyline -- one in which I agree with Betty wholeheartedly, Hilda is wrong -- that gives me absolutely no reason to feel for her, I can now just flat-out say it. I don't like Hilda or how the actress plays her. Still, overall, good, good show and yay for the Betty/Daniel-ness of it!!

I think Survivor's doing good so far this year; I like it. My faves are Bob, Sugar and Matty; I don't like GC at all, and while I find Randy a smug, superior, assy tool, I have to admit that he's mostly right in his assessments. Everyone else -- although, Dan in his smart-dumbness is amusing -- I can take or leave, but, still, good show overall. I'm liking it this year.

Finally, Secret Diary of a Call Girl ... Oh. My. God! I love this so much. It's so very, very good. U.S. of A.? THIS is how you do great subtle, somewhat cheeky, real without inane, dramatic without being fake television. I feel so much for all the characters, the little moments are so perfectly crafted, the characters are so real, so damn real. And I just love Hannah/Belle, and Billie Piper is just utter perfection. All the actors are. I just can't rave enough about how good this show is!!

On shallow notes, man, I don't know if it would be that obvious if I didn't know it, but knowing it! It's so obvious that Billie is pregnant. And I'm also semi-amused by the in-your-face boob shots we've been getting this series when it's a body double as opposed to the barely there from series one when it was Billie. Oh, and a totally shallow quibble, but I much preferred the darker shade of her hair over this year's too brassy color.

Back to non-shallow. Once more for the road: I LOVE this show!!!

I was very happy that I liked Survivor so much more last night than I did last week. I haven't really picked a favorite yet though I do like Bob and Sugar was great last night in her idol quest.

I am pleasantly surprised by how much I like Matty since everyone who read his bio was expecting such a creep and I think he's done a great job so far.

I don't like the power alliance on Koda very much so I'm a little worried about it. Corrine seems very bitchy and Charlie is too much of a Todd part 2.

But I did enjoy the show last night for the most part. Whew!

Oh, I liked last week too, partly what I'm really enjoying is that we're actually getting to know ALL of the cast this time around early on.

It's so obvious she's pregnant! All the oversized shirts, the shots of her upper body or when she's standind behind something (like at the golf club) so we only see her from her chest up...

Was that a body double? I thought maybe they'd just filmed that bit before she started to show... oh well. Didn't we have a boob shot when she was thinking of getting plastic surgery? Those were definitely hers...

And I should probably stop talking about Billie's boobs. Um.

Callum Blue! Love Callum Blue! I've been trying to figure out if it's really him on facebook and whether to send him a message or not...

No, I'm pretty sure that those weren't her boobs in the first ep of series 2 either because (a) they looked a little different than what we saw (well, the little we saw from the angles we saw) in series 1 and I checked and sure enough a "stand-in" was listed in the credits for that episode.

I didn't check the credits for this episode, so I could be wrong and maybe that was Billie in the first episode, but if they're going for a body-double they ARE going to go for one who has similar boobs. Plus, Billie DID say that she had a body double for the first part of the series and a second for the latter part. So yeah, I'm thinking all the boob-age this year is not hers. And really the in-your-face-ness of the boob shots are a lot more, well, in your face than at all last series and it would make sense that if they had an actress who was solely there for the use of her body as a double, they'd use her.

And THAT'S way too much talking about Billie boobs, LOL!

Callum Blue is doing a FANTASTIC job!!! And he may be my in to get my sister to watch the show as she just finished Dead Like Me.

I can't remember, and I don't have that episode anymore... but I was sure there was a shot were we could see Billie's face AND the boobs in the same shot. But I may be wrong.

Nope, no shot where we see her face and boobs at the same time this series. I was actually looking because I was curious, LOL! So, I think this series it's all the body double for the boob shots.

I didn't actually finish DLM, but I may eventually. My sister's watched it all and I DID mention Callum being in this today and she was like "Hmmmm!" so I might get her to watch it!! WOOHOO!!

Blame it on ONTD, but how do you feel about Lindsay as a recurring guest on the show? And ... do you think she'll really add or detract from Betty?

I like Lindsay Lohan, so I'm fine with her guesting on the show. I think she's a good actress (and I secretly -- okay, not so secretly obviously -- love her as a singer, LOL!).

Honestly? I don't think it will add much beyond a "buzz" name who CAN act who might get a few more people to tune in, and won't really detract at all. If you watch the show, unless you positively abhor her -- and she doesn't seem to engender THAT kind of hate -- you'll continue to watch it. If you don't watch it, you just won't tune in for her.

Oh I love UB. I am a huge fan and I believe America Ferrara is one of the strongest female actresses I've seen in a while. Internationally. (And yes Billie Piper makes my list!) and I have to say KUDOS on your amazing layout. And sort of on the LiLo music page, I wish Billie would sing more?!

But Lindsay is gifted, and I believe she is a geniunely nice girl in real life but we can't really speculate on that. Now can we?

I don't think they'll cancel it, they're not doing that well across the board, but I agree; I want the ratings to go up too. Hopefully this episode's return to glory will continue and people who may have stopped watching will give it another shot.
