Dollhouse - Awesome!!!
May. 2nd, 2009 05:38 amBottom-line, Dollhouse really does kick ass. It's such a shame that it will most likely be canceled because it really is turning out to be quite an excellent show. Sure the two leads (Eliza Dushku and Tamoh Penikett) are by far the weakest links, but neither of them is horrible. They are both good (with Penikett being better than Dushku), with enough moments of great here and there (with Penikett delivering more than Dushku) to make them work. Still, despite their lack of OMYGOD!greatness, the rest of the cast is SO FRICKIN' PHENOMENAL that they make up for it. And the best continues to be Enver Gjokaj as Victor. This guy is just amazing. If the show does get canceled, if there is any justice in casting, he WILL get something else. And whatever he gets? I'm there. He is AWESOME!!!

Me and JJ Abrams
Apr. 30th, 2009 04:49 amI just realized something tonight.
I watched Felicity and then stopped after season two or three.
I watched Alias and then stopped after season four.
I watched Lost and then stopped mid-season three.
I am watching Fringe now.
Hmm, if it sticks around, something tells me that I won't be watching it beyond a finite number of seasons. JJ always loses me for some reason or another.

The thing about reality tv contestants
Apr. 27th, 2009 04:12 amMy favorite left on Survivor is Sierra. A few days ago I read some press and information on her from people who knew her that was less than flattering. And then I felt slightly guilty because, damnit!, I still liked her, but I realized something. Even though, technically, these are real people just being themselves in these reality shows, really they are molded by the editors to tell a story, create characters to love, hate and in-between. So perhaps the real Sierra isn't all that likable, but for me, the 'character' Sierra as edited by Survivor is. It was the same case for Sugar last year, as well as countless other reality tv contestants throughout the years.
Moral of the story: The real person may not be someone that I would admire or even like in real life, but as they are edited, like with any admitted scripted show, I fall for the characters I like. It's as simple as that. Reality be damned.

'24' kinda bitting, isn't it?
Apr. 23rd, 2009 05:19 pmSigh, the season started out so good, but it's made some major mistakes, in my book.

Some Monday Night TV thoughts ...
Apr. 13th, 2009 11:38 pmMonday night TV, but for 24 and Castle. I'll probably do a second post for those two that includes the as yet unwatched Dollhouse and The Amazing Race. I'm planning on writing posts on the season (yes, damnit! season) finales of Life and Terminator (both BEYOND AWESOME!) later this week. But for now ...
( The Big Bang Theory )
( How I Met Your Mother )
( Dancing with the Stars )

Once again, 'Castle' = love
Apr. 7th, 2009 03:12 amSeriously this show just gets better and better. I kid you not, I cried tonight. Not a major cry by any stretch of the imagination, but I got misty-eyed and then an actual tear leaked. FIVE. EPISODES. IN!! I'm that involved.
( Am I the only one who thinks of the 'Life' opening credits when these credits flash? They're so similar. )

'Doctor Who' series finale spoiler news
Apr. 6th, 2009 04:07 pmI call it the finale because as far as I'm concerned it IS the finale forever and ever of Doctor Who for me -- well, at least until Moffat is gone!

Life on Mars US (finale)
Apr. 4th, 2009 11:00 pmPlus, woohoo!! More Windy!!!! On that note, I'm still downloading the final episode to clip the Sam/Windy scenes, is anyone interested in me putting those up too? I really didn't expect to see her this final episode that's why I clipped them all last week.
Anyhoo, about the finale ... ( Magnificent and totally unexpected wrap-up. )
ETA: Most people on TWoP hated this, but I still stand by loving it. And there was an interview with TPTB that basically said that this was always planned to be the ending chapter, to which I say, unreservedly: BRAVA!!!! This was brilliant, utterly brilliant, ingenious and absolutely tied everything together in a way that made about as much sense as possible, while hitting the right major note for me. I LOVED IT!
I uploaded the ending to youtube -- it's below in the comments.

Terminator's potential for renewal ...
Apr. 4th, 2009 08:18 pmOkay, so I'm not crazy. I just posted in reply to someone on my lj and over at
harper47's that the upcoming movie may positively affect my beloved show's chances for survival, and lookee what I read over at some TV prognosis site!
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles -- Fox absolutely loves Terminator... but Fox also absolutely hates poor ratings. However, Terminator has one great thing going for it--McG's Terminator: Salvation opens in theaters in May. If it's a hit, it could restrengthen the brand and give this promising show new life.My fingers are crossed; my fingers are crossed!
Prognosis: It sounds silly to say a TV show's fate relies on a movie's performance, but let's face it--the television industry is as wacky as they come.
This show can NOT be canceled. It is so very, very good. The characters are so rich, so full of depth; the acting is superb. The story, the arcs are so intriguing. I have NO idea what is going on but I'm so utterly spellbound by watching the story unfold. Tonight's episode? Just another amazing one. This show keeps knocking 'em out.

Hmm, Kris Allen of 'American Idol'
Apr. 1st, 2009 12:44 amWhile I took this off of my DVR, I've been attempting to watch the performances when they're put up and I have to say I've been liking Kris Allen more and more each week. His performance (but for the last note) this week of "Ain't No Sunshine" was quite spectacular. I wonder if the cute, talented little dude might manage to sneak into the top two. I kinda like him.
FYI, Adam Lambert and Megan Corkey remain complete and utter hot messes.

Well, tonight was an interesting one. Two couples rose highly in my estimation, while the rest pretty much stayed as is. Listing these in order of not just technique, but on the level of enjoyment I got out of the dance.
