Me and JJ Abrams

I just realized something tonight.

I watched Felicity and then stopped after season two or three.
I watched Alias and then stopped after season four.
I watched Lost and then stopped mid-season three.

I am watching Fringe now.

Hmm, if it sticks around, something tells me that I won't be watching it beyond a finite number of seasons. JJ always loses me for some reason or another.

Mmmh. Never watched Felicity and Alias, and I've already given up on Fringe, but I am enjoying Lost. I too gave up mid-S3, but then I got caught back in and I think S5 is brilliant. Maybe because of all the timey-wimey stuff...

Everyone stopped watching Alias after season five, because it wasn't on any more.

Well, whatever the season before it ended was. Obviously, I meant BEFORE it went off the year and others were still watching. There was a reason I put (I think) there, I wasn't sure.

Just letting you know :)

Alias is the only one of his shows I've watched. I would watch Fringe if not for Pacey. He makes my skin crawl.

Is there any show that lasted more than three seasons that you've followed to the bitter end? Reality shows not included.

Plenty. I followed Farscape, Friends, Voyager, Firefly, Eli Stone, Law & Order (not over yet, YAY!), West Wing, Joan of Arcadia, lots of shows.

The only shows I stopped watching were BtVS, X-Files (but that's just because I just couldn't love it without Mulder, and life was sucking, but I DO intend on buying and watching all 9 seasons, so I don't think it counts), the above JJ shows, ER and Veronica Mars (although, I did watch the Logan scenes from the last five episodes).

Aww, I love Puffy Pacey Face. I saw him on DC once, and was like: "That's Pacey! The guy everyone loves. He has a puffy face!!" And then by the time Sherilyn guest-starred, sis called me on the fact that dangit somewhere in between puffy as an insult and the scenes I'd caught here and there, puffy became an endearment. He grows on ya!

I thoroughly enjoy fringe myself!

Never watched Lost or Alias though.

The only JJ show I haven't watched was Felicity. I've watched everything else he's done and continue to do so. I think you should reconsider getting back into Lost because the last two seasons has been topnotch especially season four.

As for Fringe, it started out okay but ever since late last year until now, it has been fantastic. Anna Torv keeps on getting better and the same goes for the MOTW and the overall mytharc.

I think Fringe will hopefully break the mold (I sincerely hope). There's so much potential there without it getting too stale.

I think it's usually because JJ leaves after a couple of seasons to go do another show. Or rather, he doesn't physically leave, exactly, but it's like his creative talents are being put to use on developing a new series. He left Felicity to start working on Alias, left Alias to work on LOST...I don't know what his excuse is for LOST. I stopped watching it towards the end of the second season because I could tell it was going to be another JJ show where he sets up all these questions and then either never answers them or answers them in a way that makes no sense. Apparently LOST has a set end date, though, so maybe they'll actually answer some things on that show.

I really am enjoying lost -- what was it about the third season that had you quit watching? I marathoned from S1 to the beginning of S5 from November to January and have loved almost every minute of it (except I can't stand Kate at all... At. All.)

I rather despise Jack with the burning passions of a thousand suns. Seriously, I could not watch one full episode without calling Jack an asshole at least 3 times during the show. I HATE HIM SO MUCH!!!!!!

Yeah, so Jack, just, ugh, Jack.

Oh, JJ.

Okay. I have never seen Felicity. Nor Alias.

I am a Lost fan. Ish. To be honest I haven't been enjoying it lately. Especially since they kill off every character I like or... some other jazz like that. I'm very close to giving up on it, TBH.

I started watching Fringe from the very beginning -- then there was a hiatus and I didn't bother with it any more. It was interesting, yes, but IDK. I just wasn't absolutely fascinated by it to keep watching.

Although I do admit it's quite brilliant :)

I'm starting to feel like I have the same problem with JJ. I'll get invested, but something will go wrong and I'll lose all that intrigue I had at the start. Which is sad :( Because JJ is quite the genius.
