Jason Dohring has a new show!!!!!!!!!!!

Joining in the cavalcade of joy on my flist about the fact that Jason Dohring actually got another job. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I got most of the below info from my flist, especially [livejournal.com profile] annie_oakley.)

Here's a little news to kick start your day. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jason Dohring is coming back to TV in the much buzzed about HBO comedy series "Washingtonienne."

Produced by Sarah Jessica Parker and based on Jessica Cutler's book, "Washingtonienne" revolves around the professional and personal lives of three smart, sophisticated 28-year-old girls working on Capitol Hill. The show will follow the exploits of Jackie (Rachel Taylor), who moves to Washington, D.C. to pursue a career as a speechwriter but finds herself in a low-level job as a congressional staffer. She seeks guidance from a college friend (Bitsie Tulloch) who's living a quiet life with her boyfriend (David Furr), who has a professional crush on the senator for whom he works. And finally Laura (Amanda Walsh), a small-town girl whose workaholic ways often come at the expense of a social life and who is constantly defending her Republican views to her liberal friends.

Jason Dohring will play Spencer, a senior legislative assistant for the same senator for whom Jackie works.
Jason's role ...
Mid to late twenties/All Ethnicities--The Senior Legislative Assistant for the same U.S. senator Jackie works for, this 28 year old guy is the resident wunderkind of the office, having earned that status through sheer force of personality. He's charming and competitive, always ready with a witticism or historical reference to cut down his verbal sparring partner and assert himself as the cock of the walk. Looks wise, he's the type of guy who would never turn heads in a bar - he looks like he's spent his whole life indoors, at boarding school, an ivy league college, and now the office - but in D.C., where power determines desirability, he's considered a catch. But he's elusive, completely into himself and his career. Initially, Spencer makes the mistake of dismissing Jackie as a loud-mouthed underling and is subsequently floored as she nimbly scales the ladder of the D.C. power structure.

Just SQUEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so, so, so, soooooooooo thrilled. Heck, with my potential new job, I can afford it. I might actually subscribe to HBO just for Jason instead of downloading!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want to read it now just to find out more about Spencer and to get a better idea of what kind of role he could have on the show.

I've never read the book, so I don't know anything about it, but I do recall an article on HBO in my Entertainment Weekly, a few weeks ago and I think they mentioned this show. So, I'm going to dig it up and re-read.

Oh, may I'm so excited. HBO promos and promo shots!!!!!

I'm not sure if he's in the book, but it may not hurt to get an idea of what may be in the show.
