YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Doctor Who casting news.
I've had a crazy, intense week; it's not over yet, but I HAD to post about this.
YES!!! THANK GOD!!!!!!!!! I've been saying ever since the finale that I really, really didn't think David Tennant was sticking around as the Doctor and I've never been more happy to be right. I wrote about why I preferred this option way back on June 9, 2008, and I stick by that post (with the only change being that I actually do NOT plan on watching the show under Moffat ... David being gone makes it that much easier).
I've gone on here and there in other entries and other flist posts about why I was so hopeful about this prospect, but suffice it to say here, with all of these comments from Rusty, David and even Moffat, I've just been more and more certain that he wasn't sticking around and I'm quite thrilled about that. I really, really am. The Who that Rusty created: Nine, Ten, Rose, Donna (perhaps Martha, but I suppose that's still possible) began and will end with Russell T Davies. YAY!!!
And, yes, I can't help but be hopeful that we'll get some final, awesome send-off with David/Ten that does have to do with Rose ... even if it's only in the form of an alt-universe special (which wouldn't bother me in the least). And speaking of ... with that alt-universe Doctor and Rose, Rusty did leave the door open for a David and Billie return at any time for some sort of special episode. So yay!!!
I do love David Tennant, I do love Ten, but I couldn't be happier about this news. Moffat can't touch my Doctors any longer. YAY!!!!!!!!

Not to mention that this blows the River Song arc to hell (which may or may not be a good thing, but I am a canon nazi and discrepancies upset me greatly. :M)

HOWEVER.
I'm not gonna quit watching... AND I ONLY JUST FOUND OUT AND MY FANGIRL HEART IS IN TINY PIECES.

But that makes sense. Here's hoping they cast a really unattractive Eleven to screw with Moffat's plans. ;p
(though a newspaper is running odds for the next Doctor and it looks like the guy who was the captain in TIP/TSP is in the lead, followed by David Morrissey [who I LOVE!], James Nesbitt [also AWESOME!] and John Simm [Please GOD no!! :p ])
