Wow. BAD! Other than Syesha (and to a lesser extent, Brooke) they all SUCKED! Sucked royal monkey balls of sucktitude. I honestly believe as of now that this is the WORST year AI has ever had. By the end of the second night of first semi's there's been at least two or three great performances. But this year?!? Oy vey. Oy vey, oy vey, oy vey. So, so, so bad. Did I mention bad? If I didn't ... BAD!!
We had pitch problems, we had flat notes, we had sharp notes, we had horrific song choices, we has massacre of classic songs, we had nerves, we had horrific hairdos (yes, Amanda, I'm looking at you). Basically we had a continuation of the BAD of last night. Just wow. Bad. Bad. Bad.
Brooke is so darn likable that even a bit of her pitchiness can be excused (and this is saying a lot from me considering that 'So Happy Together' is one of my absolute favorite songs of all time). She made me smile. Syesha had a bad song choice (IMO), but she sang the hell out of it that it didn't actually matter. Everyone else (including their darling Carly -- eh, they may have ragged on her, but I couldn't take anymore and since she was the last one anyway, I just hit 'delete') was just not good, see second paragraph.
This round of contestants, including all 24? In a word? Bad. I hope it gets better. I really, really, REALLY hope it gets better or I'll quit watching, cuz I just won't care. If there's no one to root for, I ain't interested.
You know, I betcha that Josiah would have given a performance to bring the house down!
