Moffat wouldn't have kept RTD's storylines and/or characters. This will give us an official explanation to his crap/lack of continuity.

As for River -- who really I just prefer to forget, I refuse to give her the importance that Moffat wanted us to and so frankly don't care, he doesn't have to remember, and this way Moffat clears it up so that when he does meet her he isn't using her to let her die in the end. And again, it was NEVER even remotely stated at all in the two episode ANYWHERE that he fell in love and/or married her. AT ALL.
