Has CL been dropped from "Private Practice?"

I sure hope this is a good sign. If you're a regular reader of my oh-so scintillating LJ you know that I've thought this a distinct possibility. As I wrote:

The article came out after the upfront.) Anyhoo, until it's all said and done, I'm hoping Lowell will not be part of the cast when it premieres; that he and his character will be dropped. I really enjoy Walsh (and Daly), but my dislike of Lowell as a performer (and yes, the VM-connection) just will make the show unwatchable for me.

You are saving my life today, with my fall preview! Actually, I didn't list him anyway -- didn't feel like he was important enough to mention in the PP cast list. Maybe I can cut him out of the PP photo... ;p

(I hope they're not getting rid of Amy Brenneman and Paul Adelstein -- they were my two favorites after Addison! :/ )

Well, Amy Brenneman is listed the same as the others I listed. It's just CL and Paul who aren't listed as such. I like Paul, so he can stay, just please, please, PLEASE get rid of CL. I will NOT be able to watch the show with him in it. He just sooooooo bugs. After going three months without seeing him onscreen, the two brief scenes I watched (Logan beating his ass, the quick moment when Logan and V talked in the elevator and then Shithead was waiting outside it, and Shithead all emo realizing that yeah Veronica is HOT FOR LOGAN in the finale!), I was hit anew with how much he annoys the fuck out of me. Excuse my French, but seriously, he so BUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sigh...I should probably edit Paul A. out then... :pouts: I swear, I never read your initial entry about replacing CL (I mean, that they actually would, not that they should -- I must've been at the Upfront).

I also read they're changing the title of ABC's new comedy, "Sam I Am" -- first it was "Samantha Be Good" (awful!) and now it's "Samantha Who?" Which...I still think the first title is the catchiest. Go figure...

(G/I icon for the win!!! I hope Shonda doesn't cave next season and pretend they never happened. :/ )

Do you really think it does mean something then? I'm sad for Paul A, but jubilant about CL. And yeah, if you're basing it on that report, edit Paul out too. I think you may have been at Upfronts because that came out like a day or two afterwards and I jumped up on it like nobody's business.

Well, I actually don't think that G/I are as universally despised as message boards would like us to believe. They have one of the bigger/more active lj couple communities, plus TV Guide (I believe) flat-out said they do like them, plus this is Shonda. She does what SHE wants, so hopefully, she'll stick to her guns. I still wish that Callie was going to the spin-off (and CL off), because I love SR and her character, just not with George!

If others have been listed as having those eps on their resumes, and CL doesn't...heh. But this pleases me, as this means Logan is the only one with a new show this fall, and not Piz. ;p

I think so, too. And everyone I've talked to in RL (granted, this consists of mostly ladies on the train and my husband's fellow teachers) likes G/I -- much more than George/Callie. I do wish Callie was going to the spinoff, too -- I enjoyed the friendship between her and Addison...

I know!!! If he is dropped, it will be kinda ironic. We were all bemoaning that CL got something so high-profile and JD didn't get anything because of the timing. And I kept saying, well, maybe they'll recast roles in a Pilot, but everyone (seriously, everyone!!) shot me down. And now, woohoo!! Jason has a high-profile fall show and CL may be dropped from his. And even if he isn't, Jason is probably the most recognizable of his cast now AND is in the top 4 main cast AND CL is at the very low-end totem-pole of a numbers-heavy-cast. So call me evil, but this calls for another round of WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've loved George/Izzy from the first episode so this has been great for me. And I do think that the internets incorrectly offer the perception of everyone hates them. And it's not like the ratings were hurt. Woohoo!!

Yes, I too loved Addison and Callie. Sigh. Maybe she will jump over mid-season?

If this is true - I will be far, far, far more likely to watch this show. I think it needs major retooling but CL was a joke and that slomo walk before the drooling doctors left me thinking no way under the sun will I watch something like this. I like Kate Walsh but honestly, they could recast everyone as far as I'm concerned.

I'm still not 100% behind this but if they get rid of CL, it's a start.

I like Sam I am. It's like Dr. Suess. Are these people morons?

Right, as much as I do like Tim Daly, Taye Diggs and Paul Adelstein, I'm not stuck on any of them. But CL is just a no-go for me. Just impossible. As much as I adore Kate Walsh, I can not watch another show with him. There is a very finite number of actors who I would do so for (Jason Dohring being one) and Kate Walsh, as great as she is, is not one of them.

I'm totally jumping in here, but about Sam I Am, I think it's actually because of Dr. Suess that they have to change it. I read somewhere a couple weeks ago about it and I think it had to do with not wanting to pay so much to Suess's estate. It was the same reason that Sean Penn movie changed it's name. It was originally going to be Sam I Am but changed to I Am Sam.

Heh. I don't watch GA and won't be watching PP regardless, but even just from the still pics of CL shirtless with his surfboard, the casting just didn't make any sense to me. In what world is CL the hunk? I just don't see it at all. And that's even before talking about his acting or anything else about the character--and from what I've heard, it sounds dumb.
