Just wanted to do a little meme for no particular reason.
Ask me five questions about myself (non-fandom) and I'll do my best to answer them as honestly as possible.
Ask me five questions about any of my (or your) fandoms.
When done ... tag or don't tag. It's up to you! :D

Date: 2008-04-10 09:35 pm (UTC)1. I swear you've answered this before, so forgive me for forgetting: you have great insight about SYTYCD and DwtS. Do you have a dance background? :)
1a. Which show do you like better: DwtS or SYTYCD, and why?
2. What was (sniff) your favorite ep of "Joan of Arcadia?"
3. What is your favorite X-Files ep?
4. If you could only renew one show for next year, "How I Met Your Mother" or "Eli Stone," which show would you renew and why?
5. Name your All-Star American Idol Top 12 (from all 7 seasons, any contestant who made it to Hollywood is eligible :)

Date: 2008-04-11 01:19 am (UTC)ETA: Erm, or tonight because I have unexpectedly have the opportunity.
1. My mother was a dancer/choreographer and so I grew up not only seeing her dance/choreograph, but I danced in some of her shows. As well, she taped ANYTHING with dancing in it on TV (even commercials) and while watching she would point out things off-handedly, so I know what to watch for.
1a. It depends: If I have an absolute favorite (like Julianne as a pro period), I prefer DWtS, but if I don't have a fave, SYTYCD. I've continued to watch SYTYCD when my fave didn't make it, but once I had no one to root for on DWtS, I stopped watching.
2. I'm boring, but "Jump." It really was just ... perfection.
3. "Paper Hearts," with almost so close it's a tie, "Jose Chung's 'From Outer Space.'
4. I adore HIMYM and I think it's one of the best sitcoms EVER, but I'd still have to go with Eli Stone. I know. It's about levels of entertainment and fandom. As much as I adore HIMYM, I still haven't bought any of the DVDs (even though I do want to), but I'm already planning on buying ES when it comes out. Sometimes a show just gets to you even if it's not the best. Eli Stone gets to me. Hopefully that won't be an issue and both will be renewed, though. :D
5. In order of season:
Justin Guarini
Kelly Clarkson
Diana DeGarmo
John Stevens
Jon Peter Lewis
Matthew Metzger
Nadia Turner
Chris Daughtry
Jordin Sparks
Brooke White
Josiah Lemming
Danny Noriega

3- Logan or Josef?
4- If you could dream up the perfect role for Jason, what would it be?
5- What song would you love for Victor Garber to sing?

Date: 2008-04-11 05:08 am (UTC)Now I'm not saying that I would want Sami with anyone other than EJ, or vice versa. I am completely a couple girl and it's EJami all the way or bust for me.
2. Well, since this story is putting he and Sami together, he doesn't need rescuing. But to rescue EJAMI from the current storyline that does have major issues? Fire Dena Higley. But that ain't gonna happen.
3. Logan, no question.
4. A James Dean-esque role. Not playing James Dean, but playing a James Dean type of character, but with an inner sunshine. He could totally do it.
5. In general? Something that shows off his Broadway voice. Maybe "Bring Him Home" from Les Miserable. I don't know the extent of his vocal range though, and I'm not sure he could pull that off, but if he could ...
On Eli Stone? "One More Try."

1. What's a typical day in your life like?
2. What do you do for a living?
3. What do you do in your free time? Do you have any hobbies?
4. Have you met anyone in RL that you talk to on LJ or message boards (or did you know them in RL already)?
Fandom:
1. I know you said you no longer watch ATWT, but how and when did you first start watching?
2. What do you think of the new season of The Office thus far (if you've watched it)?
3. In your entry about Christian Clemenson, you mentioned you rented The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. on DVD. What did you think of the show, and what were your favorite episodes?
4. Who has been your favorite contestant (not necessarily a winner) of ANTM? And who do you think is going to win this season (if you've been watching)?
Okay, I know I cheated on some questions by asking more than one thing. Answer whatever you want, if you don't feel comfortable sharing something that's cool. :-)

Date: 2008-04-12 03:15 am (UTC)Personal:
1. I get up around 8/8:30, have breakfast while I browse, get ready to go to work, am there at 10 (generally a few minutes afterwards) spend all day wrangling 13-15 three-year olds (if there are more than 15 in the class, there are two teachers there). In between, I visit my sister and her kids at lunch. Get home, watch tv, make dinner, browse the internet, play with my cats. Yes, I clearly have no life, LOL!
2. I work in daycare.
3. Read books, watch tv, movies, internet-stuff, make music videos for whatever fandom I'm in if so inclined, graphics, etc. Do family outings every couple of months or so.
4. Yes. My best friend I met online, as well as a few others. I also talk on the phone with quite a few people I've met through fandoms. One of them I currently talk with I consider a truly great friend (waves to
Fandom:
1. I first watched it in late 1988, fell totally for Josh (William Fichtner -- STILL AWESOME!!) and Meg. Stopped watching shortly after they left. Watched it on and off throughout the years and then in 2001 a friend kept pushing me to watch because of this awesome romantic, passionate Lily/Simon story. I wasn't looking for a new soap, but then read a hilarious line (from Henry about him not trusting someone who ended their sentence with a proposition) and I decided that any writer who would put that on daytime and EXPECT people to get the joke, well, I had to give it a try.
So I tuned in, watched one week, and that week there was no Lily/Simon, but I figured I'd try one more week. The next week introduced Katie Peretti Frasier. I found I didn't give two squats about Simon and Lily, but fell head over heels for Simon and Katie and within a month or so, I was completely gung-ho over the totally awesome Terri (Conn then, now using her married name) Colombino. Phew.
2. If you mean the pre-writer's strike Office - I think it's great. I'm not AAAAHHHHHHHH! about it like everyone else (and actually prefer Kelly/Ryan and Michael/Jan pairing-wise over Jim/Pam), but I very much enjoy it. If you mean the episode that just aired? I haven't watched it yet. I will this weekend.
3. I liked the show, but didn't love it and despite loving CC and the always-awesome Bruce Campbell, it just didn't gel well enough for me and I knew Kelly Rutherford from her Generations days (short-lived NBC soap) and had never liked her, so that didn't help. So, yeah, I didn't finish watching it. Therefore, I can't really even list a favorite episode. Sorry.
4. Caridee, with Heather a close second. I think, gosh, I don't know who will win this season. I think if she can get her appearance/confidence level up, Lauren should (because her photos are AMAZING), but I think that Anya and Katarzhina (sp?) have a shot too. But I don't know ... maybe Tyra might give it to Whitney so she can have her "plus-size" model winner.

Date: 2008-04-12 10:26 pm (UTC)I used to be a member of the Terri Colombino and Other Beautiful Things ezboards (my username was SkyPie8748). I occasionally would read your LJ, but I never made any comments until a few weeks ago when I commented on your Nuke entry from August. I hesitated commenting initially because I didn't know if you only wanted friends commenting or not. I friended you because we have some fandom interests in common and I would like to comment on some of your entries, if you don't mind. If you want to know anything else about me, feel free to ask. I don't want you to think I'm some random internet stalker, lol.

Date: 2008-04-17 03:30 am (UTC)Seriously, I try to remember, but MySpace is just so not my thing. I'm sorry.
2. Where do you think is the best place you've ever lived?
Honestly, I wouldn't use the term "best" to describe any place I've lived.
3. What are your favorite boy/girl names?
Nicholas and Bethany.
4. What is the best job you ever had?
Money-wise, time-off-wise, benefits (Flight Attendant, and boy did I not appreciate it enough then). So awesomely easy where I got to read books, watch movies, play on my laptop and get paid-wise (overnight care for an individual with MRDD).
5. What is something you really want to do but haven't done yet?
Written a book.
1. Who are your top five most hated celebrities?
1. Tom Cruise (always)
2. Kristen Bell
3. Paris Hilton
4. Lara Flynn Boyle
5. Rob Thomas (show creator, not singer)
2. Did you ever finish your Top 25 list I asked you to make?
Nope, but I'm steadily working on it. The incomplete list is sitting right by my computer as I type this.
3. What, in your opinion, is the worst thing about each of the three presidential candidates?
1. McCain: He really seems to want his presidency to just be an extension of the Bush years, ie, he DOES NOT GET IT!
2. Clinton: She's a two-faced liar who I simply do NOT trust at all. (Still, better than McCain.)
3. He's not the official nominee ... yet.
4. Have you ever been obsessed with a cartoon series?
Eh, closest would be "Slayers" -- a Japanese anime cartoon.
5. Anything you love that as far as you know no one else does?
Using the word "bananas" in random places for no reason. Although, I've stopped doing that lately. Uhm, I know: Starbuck/Gaius on Battlestar Galactica. Seriously, I SOOOO shipped them seasons one and two. (See icon!)
