I haven't actually watched any of the movies/shows on my Who-drought list, but I have a few more to add to them, plus I added Catherine Tate to my list of Eccleston, Piper and Tennant. I do plan on watching all of these no both lists, but I want to finish my rewatch-review of my Rose episodes first, thus the delay. (And, hey, by the time I get to them maybe Hamlet will have been released on DVD. One can dream.)

David Tennant

- Secret Smile - Yes, I know he plays a psychotic ex-boyfriend. I'm strangely looking forward to watching this. I think he'll be super-sexy playing evil. We'll see.

Billie Piper

- Ruby in the Smoke / The Shadow in the North - The two Sally Lockhart movies.

Catherine Tate

- First series of the Catherine Tate Show - I just could not resist. If I like it, I'll nab the second series.

- Starter for Ten - I actually grabbed this one on Netflix already because it got good romantic reviews and stars James McAvoy. She likely doesn't have a big part, but woohoo! Catherine Tate!!

- Love and Other Disasters - Added to my Netflix Instant Watch Queue.

- Scenes of a Sexual Nature - Ewan MacGregor AND Catherine Tate in the same movie!?! Woohoo!!!

Any thoughts (non-spoilery) on any of the above are appreciated. :)

I've seen Ruby in the Smoke and the Catherine Tate Show - Billie is excellent in the first, and of course I really enjoy the source material - and the Catherine Tate Show is hilarious. Some of the characters are more forgettable than others, but the first series is great because there isn't a definite mould for each sketch featuring each character, so there's more variation.

I just grabbed Ruby in the Smoke from the library -- haven't watched it yet, but will let you know what I think!

I loved Secret Smile; it was fucking creepy as hell and totally right up my alley. Tennant was really great and not at all playing the Doctor.

I need to get around to watching 'Ruby in the Smoke' one of these days; I keep hearing good things.

I was so lucky here in Oz, Ruby in the Smoke / The Shadow in the North were both on ABC a couple of months ago - and I loved them. Sally Lockhart reminded me of Rose in a skewered kind of way.
As for Secret Smile - gah, evil-Tennant has never been so sexy. It was hard to place DT in that role in my head, but it just proved what a tremendous actor he is to carry it off.

Ruby in the Smoke and Shadow in the North will both be on Masterpiece Theatre in September. (PBS loves them some Billie Piper this year. They had Mansfield Park back in January.) I saw the first several years ago and remember thinking it was good.

I saw Starter for Ten recently and really enjoyed it! (I actually didn't know Catherine Tate was in it, so she was an added bonus! She plays James McAvoy's mom.) I recommend the novel as well. It's by David Nicholls, and for some reason was published here as A Question of Attraction.

OMG, you just reminded me I have "Secret Smile," and haven't watched it (oh...but it's packed away, so...nevermind. :/ ) Would also recommend "Recovery" -- DT and Sarah Parrish from "Blackpool." Serious, disturbing, but well-acted. :D

I tried "Ruby" and was severely bored, so I hope you have a different reaction. :D
