Dancing with the Stars/Heroes Thoughts

No spoilers ...
DwtS: Apolo and Julianne = Love (and crappy, crappy music tonight).
That is all.
Heroes, just a general thought on two characters/actors.
Kring screwed up. Seriously, of ALL the characters he could have picked to be related, he had to pick the two played by actors with tremendous chemistry. Hayden P. and Milo V. have such a chemical onscreen connection and the fact that Claire/Peter are Uncle/Niece just strikes me as such a waste every second they spend on screen together.
Sigh.

Date: 2007-05-08 06:05 pm (UTC)Milo had more chemistry in a look or touch last night with Hayden than he did with Ali Larter and the chick who played Simone in all of their romantic/sexual scenes.
Sigh.

Date: 2007-05-08 01:07 pm (UTC)And A/J were really good last night. A slip at the beginning of the Paso but the drama was still there and I enjoyed their dance immensely.
I hope Juliane pulls back on the backstage entitlement though because I'm starting to see reaction against it and honestly, I don't like it myself. It's probably from being young but just be gracious when the scores don't go your way.
I knew you would be happy.

Date: 2007-05-08 06:21 pm (UTC)I agree about A/J. They did slip, but I can deal because it really was such a small thing in a hugely technically difficult and electrifying dance (to a tango version of "Clementine?!?!!") and since I'm about, oh, 100% sure they'll get the encore tonight, hopefully they won't make that mistake again.
I do like Julianne, but I agree her youth is beginning to show in those backstage/behind the scene moments a bit. But I do like that they do look genuinely happy even with the less than 10's and I LOVED flat-out when she said we didn't get bad scores last week, we got the words, and that was the motivator. That was the right attitude. She needs more of that. And she does tend to fall more on that side of the fence so I still love her.

Date: 2007-05-08 06:37 pm (UTC)And I agree with your comments re Apolo/Juliane. I'm sure they will have the encore too so I plan to look closely at it again. I do think they are dancing on a higher, more difficult level (which at times makes the dance a little too cluttered with tricks) but they are excellent.
On a completely unrelated note - did you see Ausiello's VM more likely to get renewed post? With the FBI format? (head pounding on desk). If it's renewed without Jason, I will not be watching. I somehow think Rob Thomas has made a deal with Wolfram and Hart because these constant near escapes from ratings death just continue to astound me.

Date: 2007-05-08 06:48 pm (UTC)Re: Apolo/Julianne. I think part of the reason he didn't get pinged for the slip is because it wasn't his fault. When Julianne came sliding towards him, SHE slid a bit too far and threw HIM off-balance, he recovered quickly, putting one hand down, and was unable to help her stand up (as the choreography called for) and she had to get up on her own. So he didn't screw up, she did. And the dance was so much more technically difficult, and aw hell, they gave two perfect scores last week to routines that so didn't deserve it, let J/A -- CLEARLY the best pair there -- get the first second perfect score.
Yes, I heard about Ausiello. Whatever. Unless they have Jason already hand-picked for another show, I still find it highly unlikely that Rob will be allowed to bring the show back without JD. Personally, I'm still holding onto hope that it's just spin control. Remember last week, the network wasn't keen on the FBI idea and LOVED the last five episodes. Whatever.

Date: 2007-05-13 10:12 pm (UTC)(Do know that I stopped watching VM despite my love for Jason Dohring and LoVe. Let's just say I know spoilers and simply CAN. NOT. TAKE. ANYMORE.)

Date: 2007-05-14 01:06 am (UTC)I stopped watching VM too and it is just sad because I have the episode (the one with Paul Rudd whom I adore) but just can't seem to watch it because of what I read in the spoilers.
Thank goodness for LoVe fanfiction and I hope that Jason Dohring has tv shows or movies lined up in the near future. Perhaps him and Nathan F. can be on the same show (that lives on) and I will be happy camper.
