OMG!! Julianne *AND* CHELSIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, you read that right!!! Despite contrary reports, Julianne *will* be in the upcoming Dancing with the Stars -- likely, she changed her mind because her partner is actually her real-life boyfriend. But even more awesome, Chelsie Hightower -- THE Chelsie whom I adored on last season of So You Think You Can Dance -- has joined the cast as a professional dancer. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy. Part of my problem with DwTS the last few years has been because of my Julianne bias, I really haven't been able to open myself up to other pairings, but with Chelsie, I now have two pros I adore. Yay, yay, yay!!!

ETA: HOLY SHIT!! I didn't even realize that the other new dancer is Dimitry (also from SYTCD) and he's ultra-hot-stuff!!! Damn!! Now, they just need to get Natalie, Mark and Neil on there and I'll watch DWTS for the pros period!

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Julianne through and through but her being partnered with her bf is very unfair to the other pros/celebs pairings. She already knows her partner and she doesn't need to have to get to know a new person unlike the other pros. How would the other pros feel about this? I know I'd be annoyed by the favoritism. TPTB should have had both of them partnered with different people to see how it would affect their relationship. That would have been far more interesting and it wouldn't have put a target on Julianne's back. I see an inevitable backlash against her and Chuck from the viewers. I hope I'm wrong though because I'd love to see them make it to the finals.

Is Dmitry any good? I'm a big Jewel fan and I'm curious if he's any good. He might not have lucked out with Jewel because she CANNOT dance to save her life. I hope they make it far also along with Jewel's husband, Ty who just happens to be your Chelsie's partner! I'm looking forward to this pairing.

I see your point in it being unfair, but on the other hand, they'll also have to deal with tension of a relatively new couple spending so much time together with one party bossing the other around and any little tiff, argument, disagreement is going to get blown out of proportion and shown on national television. So it's a double-edged sword there. It's like I said above: it could be cute or cringe-inducing.

Yes, Dmitiry's very good, and very, very attractive with a delightful Russian accent. Let's put it this way: Looks-wise, he tops Maks AND he's got charm on his side. I didn't know about Jewel sucking, hmm. Well, it depends on her fanbase and the hotness that is Dmitry, that may keep them a bit longer than expected.

I think I'm like you; I watch more for the pro dancers than the "stars" at this point. Plus all the pretty costumes.
