Nothing big, but information on the future ep numbers of a certain character. Said numbers leads to speculation that is filled with much whining and sadness and frustration. Just a warning.

Chris Lowell (Piz) has been signed to twelve episodes. We already know that he was scheduled for seven of the first thirteen, so with the remaining ordered episodes to twenty, that means he's in five more of the last seven. And since his only purpose on the show has been to moon over Veronica and the last couple of episodes have all but been giving us concussions with the anvils, I think it's a very, very, VERY safe bet that he and Veronica will be dating. Sigh. It's just so, so, so, so stupid. It's Rob Thomas once again ignoring his characters, ignoring his audience and doing what he wants whether it works, makes sense or not. This is likely his last chance to really go out with some killer episodes, make people remember VM as a great show, with great characters, actors and a buzz-worthy love story. And instead, he's wasting so much time and energy dissolving the buzz-worthy love story and spending it (and money the show doesn't freakin' have!) on a character that some don't like, some outright hate, and many are merely eh about, with the vast, vast majority of viewers' main problem with him being the fact that he's being set up as Veronica's love interest. And my GOD!, he doesn't WORK as her love interest. He. Does. Not. Work. It makes no earthly sense that Veronica -- who I DO believe loves Logan -- would be involved with someone else when she's in love with another guy. Especially a guy like Piz. It does not compute.

Honestly, I know it sounds terrible, but I wish the show would just be cancelled and be done and over with because this is possibly THE most depressing show/couple to be a fan of. It just breaks my heart and it's just a frickin' show. I just want it over so I can move on and stop being tortured by Rob Thomas and his audience-ignoring style of story-telling that would be fine and dandy if his storytelling didn't suck now with loose to terrible characterization. I think the Logan/Veronica fans had our day in the sun, eps 1-5. I think we're done for good times (such as they were) as Logan/Veronica fans. Oh, sure, he will probably throw a bone in the last episode, the last five minutes like he did in S2 -- and, of course, that was handled *so* beautifully. (Snort!) However, I think that with the exception of a few more worthwhile scenes here or there, we've had all we're gonna get. I'm sure that Veronica/Piz will have numerous scenes with Kristen Bell, no doubt, playing them up as much as she's capable of because, well, she's Bitch Bell. God, I can't stand her.

I can't even say it was fun while it lasted, because it wasn't. From season two on, it's been pretty miserable being a fan (who loves Logan/Veronica and Logan) of this show.

I really don't have a problem with Veronica and Piz dating for a while, because I honestly don't believe that it will be anything more than a rebound for Veronica, something to make Logan jealous, or just her wanting something easy. And honestly any of those options are fine by me, and completely believable.
If she's hurt, missing Logan, but there doesn't seem to be any chance of them getting back together, I can totally see her dating Piz because he's so bloody insistant and she thinks it might take her mind off things. I wouldn't find it out of character for her to at least try someone with less baggage.

I'd rather Veronica dated someone like Piz who she quite blatantly isn't suited to in the slightest, because it just isn't going to last. They'll date, she'll get bored, end of. I don't think even Rob would be stupid enough to pretend they are suddenly the perfect couple and Veronica is madly in love with him.

Surely it's better that she dates Piz rather than someone who actually is competition for Logan and someone who we really could see Veronica with?



At least this way we actually have an excuse to hate V/P and just reinforces how much better L/V are :p

They're 19 and in college, breaking up for a couple months and dating other people really doesn't seem like bad storytelling to me, even if the people they date aren't suited to them in the slightest. It happens.

And I doubt that Veronica and Logan aren't going to get back together and be happy again. If this is the last season of the show, which is looking likely, Rob will have them together in the end. Whatever he does with them inbetween, I really have no doubt that L/V is the endgame and this time I don't think it's going to be a rush job at the end of ep 20, just because it would just be a repeat of last season and I like to think he's more creative than that.

Maybe I'm being overly optimistic but hey, being optimistic makes fandom much more fun, heh.

In total agreement with the poster above me. :) I have utmost hopes that it will go that way. If it doesn't, well...then we can all get our rant on. But I have to be optimistic about it for now, or my brain will melt.

I agree with other posters. While the idea of V/Piz disgust me I really think that if they decide to go there it won't be anything really serious. It is always gonna be about Logan/Veronica and we're going to have other moments for our couple. I just need to think this way to not go crazy. Anyway, CL has a 12 episode contract, but do we know if now that the show is going to get 20 episode instead of 22 that's going to change? Obviously they're going to change some arcs. It may be possible that they take out of his contract one or two episodes *prays*

I think if they get the additional two, Rob will add CL to one or two others. Because, yes, he is that stupid and doesn't care that he's turning the audience completely off of this character.

I get what you're saying; technically I agree with what all of you are saying, but it's about the fundamental issue here. RT clearly doesn't want L/V to be THE couple. Think of it -- Duncan and Veronica broke up (because of circumstances, not because they have issues or wanted to), she waits almost a year before she starts dating someone else. She and Leo date, she essentially hooks up with Logan while still dating him. She and Logan date, they break up, she hooks back up with Duncan in a few weeks. Duncan and Veronica break up again (because of circumstances, not because they have issues or wanted to) and she waits four months before hooking up with Logan -- and a good reason for why she takes that step is because she's almost killed and he saves her life.

So we're going to have again, she and Logan break up and she ... starts dating another guy in a couple of weeks? It's the principle of the matter. Rob Thomas is so many little and big ways has made it clear that in his mind L/V are not the one. If they were, we would be seeing Logan as the one she can't over, Logan as the one she never wants to break up with, Logan the one she can't rush into a relationship with another guy because her heart belongs to him.

So, yeah, I get what you're saying -- but it still pisses me off because he can have Veronica single for four months after she and Duncan break up ONSCREEN, but we all figure she'll be dating Piz within a month, probably less if it takes place on screen and not over the break.

I agree. Obviously, they're not going to get a fourth season. Maybe not even a full order of S3, so why waste their time trying to shove Piz down our throats? RT is trying so hard to get Veronica/Piz to work, that he's completely forgetting the other characters we acctually care about.
