Behind the cut, behind the cut, go behind the cut ...

Sigh, I knew it. I accidentally read spoilers that said that in the 5th or 6th leg R/A weren't seen anywhere and I hoped that it would have been a case like when they did those books in their first leg when they were soooooooo ahead of the pack, but alas, no. And all of the previews made it pretty clear that yeah, it was the end of the road. It was partially bad luck (not finding it) and the way the leg was spread out with very little bunching, but they DID screw up the first task by not checking the spelling of the places, had they done that right away, they would have been in 3rd place after that first task.

Ah well. They were wonderful to the end though, and had such a great attitude. I loved them. I just hate that frickin' Charla and Mirna beat them. I'm rooting for Danny/Oswald and Terri/Ian now, but my love and enthusiasm for this season is gone with Rob and Amber. Sigh.

I'm with you. Romber was the team I was rooting for to win the whole thing. I cannot believe Charla and Mirna beat them. Did hell just freeze over? Loved their interview in the end though, no bitterness or anything. It's great to see these two being in love, aww. I'm going to miss them terribly. Watching TAR wouldn't be as much fun anymore.

Rooting for the BQs and Danny/Oswald now.

I loved the interview at the end so much and I just read on someone else's lj (I'm blanking!), that in the goodbye interview on the web Amber was crying because she already won, but she wanted Rob to win. Awww.

It was just a disastrous leg for them. They just couldn't recover from that one mistake. Sigh.

Same here. I'm totally bummed, and can't imagine having much enthusiasm for the rest of the season. Major downer.

I know. I'll still watch it, but if D/O and T/I are out, I may be done. Someone mentioned ratings and I do wonder if they'll drop after this.

And what really sucked is that they got that frickin' letter from Susan/Patrick!?!? UGH!

Sigh. I didn't see spoilers, but the previews from last week plus the editing at the beginning of this leg gave me a strong suspicion that they were going to be gone.

The whole episode was just stressful and frustrating.

I don't think my enthusiasm is gone, but it's definitely on life support. If Charla and Mirna get eliminated soon, that will help. I'm also rooting for Danny/Oswald, and I'm kind of liking Dustin and Kandice this time around. I think it would be cool for an all-female team to finally win.

Yeah, I kept telling myself it wasn't this week, but every preview and then the beginning just made it sooooooo obvious.

It was just painful to wath, but they were wonderful and classy to the end. And my GOD what hypocrites Joyce/Uchenna are. They're standing there, laughing their asses off while Amber tells them what they did to Charla/Mirna, and C/M show up and J/U don't say anything when Amber lies in front of them (the lying didn't bother me -- it's a race!), but then they bash R/A and say what they did was bad to the camera. And say they want to beat R/A for Charla/Mirna.

What the fuck ever.

I'm okay with D/K winning, but I'd prefer D/O or T/I.

I've always been on the Danny/Oswald train so I'm not upset at all. They were completely dominating the race though and it's surprising that they crashed and burned so bad. I still have several teams I like a lot though so . . . . .

Perhaps it's because I don't watch Survivor or just recently watched TAR 7 but I guess I just don't get the Rob and Amber love. They were great racers though.

It's not even so much about their racing (although that's part of it), it's that reality "showmances" happen all the time, but Rob/Amber were the first and well, so many thought it wasn't real. After Rob proposed on the live Survivor finale, the TWoP recapper (or one of the big gurus there) said that he would eat his hat if they actually got married, because, yeah, really.

But they stayed together, got married and it's been over a year and judging from their interaction on the race, it's real, they're in love. And that also helps, because in all of the races (I've seen them all), there is only one other pair that treated each other with the same amount of love and respect as Rob/Amber.

I don't think they crashed/burned so bad, they screwed up the one task -- which others did as well, and then they just kept falling behind and they had the bad luck of the final task, only 2 for boat, and then had to look through a stack of things, based on luck of finding it quickly.

Perhaps crashed and burned isn't the correct phrasing (I posted all my TAR comments this morning and I'm sooooo tired) but for them - it was a huge crash from first place 3 times in a row to last place. Mostly I think Rob mentally lost the game. Amber was clearly on the right track urging him to bald snark the first task and do the other but I think he just focused on this and then getting behind and it just through him. Because the BQ's did the same thing but managed to pull up in the standings.

So - no disrespect meant towards those who love them. It's just not something I feel and as I said, I have only seen them in TAR 7 which did not always show them in their best light.

That should be just "threw" him not "through". I am clearly too tired to post.

Yeah, I'd heard rumors, but got definitively spoiled this weekend. :/ Their exit was classy and awesome, though. :) Other teams could learn a lot from them, and how they treat the game.

(Are you in any way cheered up by the fact that Autumn Reeser was cast in one of the more promising CW Pilots? :)

Their exit WAS classy. It sucks because I NEVER spoil myself for reality, but I'm kinda glad I knew now because I think I WOULD have been devastated had I not known it was coming. Sigh.

I hadn't heard about that with Autumn Reeser. That's cool. Now if we could just get some Jason news. (And yes, I'm still horribly bummed that I have to deal with CL in the Grey's spin-off. I don't find him a particularly good or likable actor, I think he's fugly and of course he has horrible associations for me. Ugh.)
