Well, sorta ... these are more the songs that when I heard them, I fell completely in love to the point that I played them ad nauseum, literally HOURS in a row. I'm not proud of some of the choices (Bob, I'm looking at you) but for whatever the reason, these songs CLICKED with me! They aren't all by my fave singers/groups (although, JG/KC are included) and in some cases, it's the only song by them I like (helloooo, Carrie!), but these songs are ones I can listen to over and over and over again and never get tired of them. I do not know why, but here they be.

  • Nicole Kidman/Ewan MacGregor (Moulin Rouge) - Elephant Love Song Medley ... I literally listened to this for ten hours straight (!) when I first got it.
  • Kristen Chenoweth - Taylor, the Latte Boy ... Sounds ridiculous, but it is one of the cutest, sweetest songs I've ever heard.
  • Nicole Richie - Dandelion ... I know, I know, but I can't help it. I love it.
  • Phil Collins - Against All Odds ... Probably my second favorite song ever. It always hits me in the gut, especially when the "all" of the title finally comes into play. Man.
  • Bob Guiney - Girlfriend ... I KNOW!! But dangit, it's so dang catchy and I first heard it with a couple of 3-year olds who smiled and loved it and danced to it and well, it was infectious!
  • Carrie Underwood - Before He Cheats ... I didn't like her on American Idol, I thought every other song on her album was pretty much sappy, generic crap, but this one!?? My God, do I love it! I heard it and played it for about three hours straight and then off and on endlessly the following week. I still can't hear it and not just marvel at how awesome it is. Love.
  • Lindsay Lohan - Over ... I blame VM fandom on this one. LOL! Cindy made a kickass L/V vid to this and I fell in love with the song. (And to my shame, I have both of her albums now and dang it if I don't love nearly every song, I know!!!, but this song is still my favorite.)
  • Josh Groban - So She Dances ... I like Groban for going-to-sleep music, but this is the only one that I love just to listen to and ahh, I love it. It, to me, is the musical equivalent of watching a love story unfold before your eyes, instead this is before your ears.
  • Kelly Clarkson - Breakaway ... This is a bit of a cheat. I'm a HUGE Kelly fan and have all of her stuff, when this first leaked, I listened to it a few times, but was unimpressed. This happened during moving and I actually didn't hear the song again until two months later and THEN I fell madly in love with it. I drove my roommates insane because if we played a CD with this song burned on to it (and we played music a lot and 9.9/10 it was a mix of Kelly and Justin Guarini songs), I would put this one song on repeat. I still adore it now.
  • Justin Guarini - Get Here ... This is the version from the "American Idol Greatest Hits" album and is one of the most beautiful recordings of any song I've ever listened to. His voice is utterly sublime. I NEVER get tired of listening to this.
  • Naked Eyes - Always Something There to Remind Me ... An oldie but goodie. From the 80's, but I still love it.
  • Expose - Seasons Change ... Another 80's song and this one I drove my sister insane with listening to over and over again.
  • Wilson Phillps - Impulsive ... I actually can't stand this group, but I was in one of those ridiculously good moods that we all get sometimes and this came on the radio and was fun and bouncy and just reflected my mood so much that it clicked and I couldn't help but love it and that feeling tied in with this song has never gone away.
  • Neil Diamond - Love on the Rocks ... Heartbreaking and just gets me every time.
  • Lionel Richie - Hello ... and THIS is my all-time favorite song. Forever. Nothing else comes close. Ever.

Since I realize that 15 is a lot more than such meme's generally are (but I couldn't cut my list), I'm dropping it to 7-15 for these seven people I'm tagging.

List seven to fifteen songs that you can listen to over and over again and love still despite any passage of time.

You are made of awesome -- I lost my "Moulin Rouge" CD in a rental car about three years ago, so I am so psyched to have that awesome song back. :D Plus, "Against All Odds" is my favorite (pop) song of all time, but I've never had a copy and I've been totally digging that Carrie Underwood song the few times I've heard it on the radio. :)

Have I mentioned lately how much YOU ROCK!!!! :)

Oh, someone else who loves "Against All Odds" -- one of THE best songs ever. And no matter how many other people sing it, that one is Phil's. His voice is so perfect for it.

Yuppers, not a CU fan, but that song is so kick-ass.

    I'm glad you enjoy!

I dl'd Nicole Ritchie because none of her stuff made it to Kansas and I am curious!

Plus I totally have to agree with you on Carrie Underwood...that song is just...AWESOME! In fact I'm listening to it right now. :) All my guy friends make so much fun of me- especially when I belt it out at the country bars.

I hope you like the song, it's surprisingly catchy and I know it's studio-enhanced (created?), but there's still a sweetness to her voice.

re: Before He Cheats. I LOVE that song. It's just so ... DAMN!!!!!!!!!

I didn't know about the letter meme. I've been only tagged once in my two years on lj. Seriously.

Nevermind, reposting this -- I went to you lj and saw what you meant. I asked for a letter.

Yeah, you should still be able to download them, it's sendspace.

I know!!!! It's so addictively adorable. It's like THE cutest song EVER!!!! And it sounds so stupid, I mean, these lyrics:

    Taylor, the latte boy
brings me java, brings me joy

Sounds insanely stupid, but it's the sweetest, loveliest thing ever!
