I would like to learn how to make my own lj layout designs. I know HTML and I can do graphics, plus I've been told by professionals that I have a pretty good idea for web design, but I don't know the basics, and my brain gets bogged down with the technical directions. I've been using different word plays in google search to find an easy, understandable tutorial for figuring out how to make an lj layout design (I've picked up a bit more on how CSS works at least!), but I haven't found something that really just lays it out in plain English.

So, can anyone provide some options of where to look? I'd really appreciate it.

I know this probably seems fairly silly, but I'm thrilled and so giddy right now. I got a laptop last week as I've mentioned, but I was unable to get the wireless mouse to work. I do a LOT of copying/pasting -- especially with the breakdowns for The LoVe Shack, and doing graphics -- and touchpads are good and well, but they are a bitch when c/ping a lot. Well, as I'm sure anyone raeding this had figured out, I got my wireless mouse to work. I called up Best Buy and he gave me directions that were easy to understand and yet for some reason were NOT described even remotely well in the instructions. But who cares, it works now and I'm giddy with joy. Woohoo.

And of course, this calls for my Kermit icon of joy!

My new laptop! While I'm at work!!!! Woohoo!!! I'll be able to get so much writing done, and browsing and admin duty at the LoVe Shack AND I can talk about the show after it happens for hours as opposed to only getting forty-five minutes until I have to be at work, so WOOHOO!!!!!

IT'S SO PRETTY!!!!!!!!! The only thing that bugs is that I can NOT get the stupid wireless mouse to work! I followed all the directions, but it's just not connecting and I am not a fan of the touchpad. Sigh. Still ... WHEEE!!!!!

Eeee, I got the laptop, spending (plus a service warranty) almost $800.00. I think it was a good deal and hopefully, this will work out the way I'm hoping. Ie, finally be able to get some writing done!!!
