In the midst of the gloom and doom of VM fandom, I've found something to squee about tonight. Grease commentary

Sunday Night Viewing
Mar. 4th, 2007 10:51 pmI watched three of my six (!) shows tonight and wanted to jot some quick thoughts down. Spoilers behind the cuts.
( The Amazing Race )
( Grease: You're the One that I Want )
( Desperate Housewives )
Grease TV -- Finally with the Broadway!!
Feb. 11th, 2007 08:28 pmI wasn't going to write this up tonight, but they are actually singing Broadway which I think will truly give a better indication of whether they belong here or not.

Grease Reality, Live Show
Jan. 28th, 2007 09:00 pmWell, I certainly have a better idea of all of the singers and their talents, but my goodness could the show BE any more a copy of AI? Sigh. Ah well. At least even the eh performances are going to be better than most of the AI ones. Yay Broadway!
I'm actually typing this while I watch it. So, thoughts during the show

Grease Academy
Jan. 21st, 2007 11:49 pmI liked this much, much better than the last couple of weeks, partially because it was noticeably different from AI's format.
Before I go into my thoughts, I do want to say that these opinions are based on what we've seen so far and we really haven't been given the opportunity to see what they truly can do. I'm not going to cut the slack here that I do for my AI faves (Constantine, I love you dearly, but you were not the best singer by far that year), because I admit freely that I hold Broadway singers to a higher standard than I do pop singers and my opinion on talent will far, far outweigh my thoughts on their personality. Right now there really isn't one "Danny" or "Sandy" that I can see. I hope the coming weeks will do so.

You're the One That I Want, Night 2
Jan. 14th, 2007 09:33 pmI actually enjoyed this edition a lot more. I don't know if it's because I knew what to expect, or because there were more contestants that grabbed me, the fact that it was only one hour, instead of two or simply because they were casting in New York. For whatever reason, it was better tonight.
