Oh no, talk me down from the scary place

So yesterday some of us in the former VM-fandom were quite thrilled at the news that Rob Thomas was fired or quit Miss/Guided. I was one of them as I quite enjoy Judy Greer and wanted to watch the show and I was NOT happy with most of RT's choices the last two seasons (and two episodes of s1) of Veronica Mars.

Well, this morning I read from a "source" on the E! Online Forums that David Greenwalt is leaving Moonlight. I was bummed because I liked Greenwalt's work on Buffy and Angel. But that was it. Just bummed because of the reason stated above and because I wanted Moonlight to succeed well enough to get Jason Dohring some much-deserved attention.

And then, my brain just put the two together and OH. GOD. NO!!!!!!!!!!! Please, please, please TV Gods, do NOT tell me that if Greenwalt did leave and that with an EP slot open and RT now without a show, he'll be taking over?!?!? Please don't tell me that I'll have to deal with RT AGAIN!? More importantly, please don't tell me that Jason will have to deal with RT again!?!?!??

I just, no, no, no, no, no. Jason's a good guy, right? No higher power could be that cruel. Just NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! The timing of it just scares the crap out of me. We know that Silver didn't like La Bell (what a shocker!), but for all we know he was buddy-buddy with Rob and therefore would be just as happy as giving him this opportunity, especially since he created such gold with Jason. (Not saying that it was anyone but Jason who did that, but you know how some people think and who's to say that Silver doesn't accredit Jason/Logan's popularity to Thomas also?).

Health reasons is what the Hollywood Reporter said, some other guy (but most of his info seems wrong) says creative differences. Considering how DG has been acting, I'm going with health reasons. Poor guy.

He did, but the rumor is that his replacement is someone who worked with Greenwalt and has served under him, so that's a positive.

My brain immediately went there too. It just kind of fits, what with the Joel Silver connection and the MotW focus. And oh man. Just... ugh.

BUT.

The Greenwalt departure is by no means solid. It wasn't reported by KV, just by a random commenter in the forum. I'm not saying it's not credible, but we JUST DON'T KNOW YET.

So I guess I'm talking you down by saying it's too early to panic. Let panicking commence if we hear confirmation that this rumor is true. And with ComiCon around the corner, we should know soon one way or the other.

Well, as we know it was confirmed, BUT, nothing is pointing to RT right now. In fact, the replacement looks to be a protege of sorts of DG.

Oh, no, that would be AWFUL! I swear, when I giggled about RT leaving Miss/Guided, I then immediately thought, "Oh, no, what if he ends up on a show you watch??"

Looks like JD has committed no vehicular Kp-manslaughter as there's been not a whiff of RT's name anywhere and the rumored replacement worked with DG. Phew!

I am not that concerned about Rob Thomas. As much as I dislike the guy, my main concern is always for Jason. And I am sad that DG left, because he was quality. I am also hoping it wasn't any kind of ugly. Last thing this show needs is more doubt. God, can't JD get a break?!
