Historical Romance:

Mary Balogh: The Slightly Series (Slightly Sinful, etc.)
Lisa Kleypas, Devil in Winter
Anything by Carla Kelly (she's Regency, though)
Pamela Morsi's older works; I like Wild Oats and Garters

Contemporary: SUZANNE BROCKMANN. Run to the store and buy these. Start with Prince Joe or The Unsung Hero or Heartthrob.

Mystery: Janet Evanovich: Start with One for the Money
Victoria Thompson writes historical mysteries. I forget what the first one is called. Murder on Astor Place? Here's a list of her books: http://www.victoriathompson.homestead.com/books.html

Have fun. :)

Thanks. I've read Mary Balogh (I think I actually read Slightly Shady or Sinful), but I'll check 'em all out. I've never read Susan Brockmann. (My fave contemporary romance writers are Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Clare Naylor, if you know of them, is she anything like them?). and I've been tempted to try Evanovich, but never have. I've never heard of Victoria Thompson. Hmm. Thanks for the recs, I'll definitely check them out.

I love Phillips. Nobody's Baby But Mine and Dream a Little Dream are two favorites. I have Match Me If You Can if you want it. It's just sitting around taking up space.

Brockmann is more romantic suspense, but I love her characters/writing so much.

And DUH, I haven't mentioned Jennifer Crusie. I love her. She's Phillips-esque.

Yes, Wendy, I'd LOVE that SEP book. My fave is
This Heart of Mine." (I have a different address now, everything is the same but the street and I figure just the street is okay to give out here - 536 Allenby Dr, the rest is the same.)

I know you've talked of Crusie a lot. I actually have one book of hers (Bet Me) that a friend gave, but I've never read it. I will add it to my stack to read.
